The South pole is, obviously, the South pole of Xothu. It is located in the centre of the continent of Zikal.

However, the very pole itself is a giant pit miles wide and deep, completely lined with obsidian. The light catches upon the obsidian and it's frosty coating, causing glorious reflections in the sky known as Aurora. The area was once heavily volcanic, and it's theorised that the pit was caused in a final cataclysmic explosion of the volcanic field.
