Large, roughly cow-sized animals that inhabit the Boggy Empire of the Rats, and are used as pack animals and sometimes mounts by the Rat-men. Ratbears are hardy creatures, with a thick, hairy hide (usually brown) and a ratlike face. They have been known to stand on their hind legs - but never when burdened - and can swim fairly well, in addition to being powerful fighters when the need arises. They subsist on reeds and grasses, and the nutritious, algae-filled waters of the Boggy Empire. A taste for honey and an aversion to bees are both unconfirmed.
