A city-state in northeast Orath, Cort Baraget is a cold, snowy city with a faintly unsavory reputation. Its architecture has been described as spidery: delicate and complex and poisonous. The bulk of the city is comprised of row after row of cramped shops and dysmal houses, lit by gaslight more often than not in the long winter nights and clouded days. Occasionally a withered treelawn will break the monotony by utterly failing to bring a touch of cheer to the city. Underground stations, marked by brick towers on street corners that spew smoke and clank with the motion of elevators, provide transport into the city center.
The City Proper is marked with towering, complex cathedrals and concert halls and libraries and universities- for Cort Baraget is a university city.
It is also famed for its zoological gardens.
